I like to shop online for interesting things like books,
movies, and computers. But I especially
enjoy shopping for underwear at Victoria’s Secret.
No, it’s not for me.
Well it kinda is. Oh, you know what I mean.
I think online shopping is the greatest invention for
MANkind because I won’t be caught in an actual store that specializes in this
stuff. Not even if I’m out of town.
I don’t want a young girl or an old
grandmotherly type approaching me to ask if she can help me with anything.
It would just sound wrong if I said, “Uh, no thanks. I’m just... looking.”
Nor do I want any kind of protracted discussion of any of
the products with the nice sales lady. I don’t want to hear about the differences in material. I don’t
want to talk about cup size. I don’t want to discuss comparisons of thongs vs “cheekies.”
I don’t want to have to describe my wife’s dimensions, or
try to show them with hand gestures, or compare my wife’s figure to that of the sales
associate. No matter what he looks like (har har).
For me, the only way to
shop is from the online catalog.
However, I must say about the models--and I know this is
an old issue--that they are really skinny. Without
a doubt they are lovely with their pouty lips and cocked hips, but come on! My wife is considered tall and slim, but she is a grown
woman, not somebody’s child. Not stick
figure Barbie.
She has a full round, uh…
well never mind. Suffice it to say when I take her in hand, it takes both hands.
So when I shop to buy panties, I have to keep in mind that
whatever I get for her won’t look like it does in the picture. We’ve experimented enough to know what looks best on her—and that was fun.
When she has on her style of underwear, she’s
breathtaking.
I’d show you, but while I may be head of the house and she may be submissive, she’d kill me if I did. So you’ll just have to take my word for
it.
PS—What’s with all the feathers when they do that runway show on TV every year?

Well, I can see that you're feeling much better! lol
ReplyDeletePersonally, I like to feel and look and try things on. It's part of the experience if you will. I buy my own things, as H would not have a clue- so kudos to you!
I have a budget, but anytime that I wish to stop at Victoria's Secret and the like, I have carte blanche. Why is that? ;-)
No clue about the feathers or runway shows- not my thing.
Elysia, why he gives you so much leeway is certainly a stumper.
DeleteThey's angels is what they is...angels in underwear. Hey, that brings a song to mind "Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, (that's how it starts, giggle) then goes on to sing about an angel being a centerfold...member that one?
ReplyDeletecygnet, the words seem familiar, but I didn't recognize the tune.
DeleteWell who has spiked your porridge, Mr. Bear !Glad to see you've got a swing back in your step.I buy all my own day to day stuff but Peter buys me some very nice bits.He hates thongs, which I've never really understood fully. He says it's all tied up with the 'leaving it to the imagination' side of things.Sarah,LD,UK
ReplyDeleteSarah, I had a good day, yesterday. I don't like the thongs either--just a personal preference.
DeleteSo happy to see your feeling better Mick.
ReplyDeleteI much prefer to look, touch and feel the underwear I buy. I think it's sexy when P buy me knickers and gets me to model them for him. We both don't like thongs either.
Love,
Ronnie
xx
Thanks Ronnie. I think the modeling of them is the best part.
DeleteHumming cygnet's song...J Geils Band if I remember correctly. Perhaps I need to rethink the undies situation. They are so utilitarian to me. I don't think my husband would buy them online OR in a store, so it would be up to me to spice things up. Besides...they just come off anyway! :)
ReplyDeleteGood to see you having a bit of fun Mick.
That's the one, Susie!
DeleteWell, I'm glad we go the song straight. Susie, they say when you shop for women's underwear you should see how it looks on you AND how it looks in a heap on the floor.
DeleteGlad to see you are feeling better, well at least you sound like you are feeling better and obviously "frisky" thinking about Valentine's Day I'm thinking.
ReplyDeleteHubby usually goes with me when we are looking for "pretties". He is in charge of the toys though. I like surprises.
Sunnygirl--Valentines Day? Is that thing coming up again?
DeleteThis made me laugh, out loud! Found your blog via little butterfly...
ReplyDeletei'm a spankee, but not married to my Dom..
anyway...thanks for being one of those men who understands that those model chicka's are just not 'real" women.
*smiling*
nilla
Hi nilla, I'm glad to give you a little laugh.
DeleteHave you ever checked out Agent Provocateur? A little pricey, but so sexy.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to give it a try.
DeleteGreat, now I'm looking at victoria's secret undies online...hey, there are some sales going on though! ;)
ReplyDeleteI always like to look at the ones that say "our panties are half off." :).
DeleteYou made me laugh aloud at "no matter what HE looks like" ...
ReplyDeleteI think it's great that you shop online. My husband lets me just surprise him and shows his appreciation for my choices.
Sometimes I'll admit I'm just trying to distract him in a spanking situation and that (usually) doesn't work.
Never hurts (much) to try though..
Great post Mick.
Stormy, I wrote about the attempt to distract a man from his task. For a guy wired like me, a pair of pretty panties increases the likelihood of Lynda getting a spanking. :).
DeleteNot to get the last word or anything.. :)
DeleteTrue, but at times they can "cut it short" and therefore they have indeed served their purpose in my experience.
internet shopping is the root of all my troubles :( but yes i love it too....(dont like the resutling spankings though - well maybe sometimes LOL
ReplyDeletelove and hugs kiwi xxx
I can be ambivalent myself sometimes. Maybe. On the other hand....
DeleteI know exactly how you feel about going into those stores... The young things in there would probably start giggling uncontrollably. Sigh. And yeah, I've never thought that skinny models were all that attractive (but I DID have a Cheryl Tiegs poster on the wall when I was in high school). Besides, it's more about what's UNDER what's under anyway.
ReplyDeleteMM, I had Farrah on my wall.
DeleteI don't know about the feathers, but I really want a pair of those wings. LOL.
ReplyDeleteFaerie, hey whatever makes a person feel good.
DeleteOMG, that was adorably hilarious! Men...
ReplyDeleteKelly
Hi Kelly, always happy to entertain.
ReplyDeleteAwww models are always getting a bad rap. Speaking as someone who was a model in her teens and twenties - we're people, too. Forgive me for being a tad defensive, but it does bother me that it has become quite acceptable to level all kinds of nastiness at us. I'm not 'anorexic', and my husband thinks thongs suit my rear just fine - and he should know, he sees enough of it. I suppose men feel they had better be able to convince their significant others that any woman who is thinner than she is, must have an eating disorder - if he has any hope of getting into *her* panties ever again ;) That aside, being a bit of a lingerie addict, I can highly recommend Elle MacPherson Intimates. Very feminine and sexy in an understated, delicate way. Lots of different styles to suit every body shape - from the fuller figure, to ugly thin girls like me.
ReplyDeleteWell, Arienne, when you're right, you're right.I wasn't meaning to be insulting to young models, but after reading over my words, I see that I really was. So let me say that I think the slender models I see in the magazines are lovely in every way.
ReplyDeleteSee, I can say that and still be on good terms with my wife, who, as I've said, looks terrific, too, even if she doesn't share the same proportions as a model half her age.
